About the Ministry

Who we are

New Song Mission Nicaragua was founded in 2007 and is constantly striving to reach and empower Nicaraguans through many different ministries including sports ministry. We believe sports present an environment where fun and life lessons meet. First and foremost, we look as sports as a ministry and the other things are added by-products. Thanks to the willingness and faithfulness of a few the sports ministry here at New Song is undergoing an exciting transformation. The field at the mission is being professionally renovated to provide two small baseball fields as well as having the option of a big field so that it still can be utilized for young adults/adults. Partnering with all five churches that the mission has planted in different villages throughout the years, a baseball little league for children between the ages of 6 -12 will kick off in 2015. The goal is to reach those who are currently not involved in the church as well as edifying those who are. The future vision of the ministry is to expand into not only baseball, but also softball and soccer while offering leagues for a wider range of ages.

Where we are

New Song is located in a small village in Nicaragua called Candelaria. Nicaragua is the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and Candelaria is one of the poorest communities where the average person lives off of less than $2 a day. However, what they lack in resources they make up for in passion, and one of their passions is baseball. The people will proudly talk of their two homegrown aces, Dennis Martinez and Vincente Padilla, among others. This passion streams over to their eagerness to learn and grow in their abilities.

Pray for the Ministry

Please, pray that the ministry will be successful in offering the Nicaraguan children of the area the opportunity to participate in baseball/softball in a way that they could only dream of.
Please, pray that the families are involved and that through this ministry, they will grow closer.
Most of all, please, pray that through this ministry’s efforts, the kids and families will come to know the saving power of Jesus.
